Preserving Native American Languages through Children's Books and Stickers: Saddle Up

Preserving Native American Languages through Children's Books and Stickers: Saddle Up

Our latest children's book is in progress and will be completed soon. We're thrilled to share with you the story of a young Native American girl who learns valuable lessons through her experiences with horses called: Saddle Up! At Tribal Visions, our goal is to provide captivating children's stories that highlight the beauty of Native American culture, while preserving the language with the language lesson incorporated into the book.

Our upcoming story, "Saddle Up," is no exception. We're excited to not only teach the Ojibwe word for horse but also 21 total tribes, each with their own unique spelling and pronunciation of the word "horse." We believe that this approach will not only enrich the reader's knowledge of Native American culture, but also contribute to the preservation of the different Native American languages.

As a complement to our upcoming children's book "Saddle Up," we're excited to offer stickers featuring the tribes and their respective words for "horse" mentioned in the language lesson. Not only will the stickers serve as a fun and interactive way to reinforce the lesson, but they will also aid in the important efforts of language revitalization. Each sticker will include the word in both the written form and its pronunciation to make learning even more accessible. By incorporating these stickers, we hope to preserve and promote Native American culture and language for generations to come.

Stay tuned for updates on the progress of "Saddle Up" and other projects at Tribal Visions.

Thank you for your continued support!
